This Citadel is described as a huge black skull, with three eyes. It was said to be the skull of a Nephilim, as stated by Azarax. The tree eyes are the sign of the Void, angels, and what the angels touch. Though, the Nephilims often hide their third eye. [2]
This Citadel was said to give the clan in possession of it a huge advantage, in reaching the Tomb of Ariel, So Morgan and Madoc had tried their best to keep this Citadel a secret. However, it eventually fell into the hands of Mordret. [3][4]

"Three eyes... it's the sign of the Void. It's the sign of the angels, and of what angels touched. Nephilim were the same, even if they chose to hide their third eye most of the time. Those abominable things. They joined our glorious army to fight against the gods, but even though we were glad to have their dreadful strength on our side, we weren't happy to be in their company."[2]

The earliest history recorded of the Black Skull is that it is the skull of a Nephlim from the Doom War that took place in the Nightmare desert. [2]
Centuries after that, the Battle of the Black Skull took place. This Citadel was first discovered by the Valor Clan. They attempted to secretly use their power to take over this Citadel, because the first person to own this Citadel would gain a huge advantage in the race to the Tomb of Ariel. [3]
But the Valor Clan lost the Citadel due to Mordret usurping it secretly. [10]
After these events the Skinwalker took over this Citadel due to the fact that Mordret didn't clean up the bodies after he silently usurped it. [11]
