Glass Hell
locationDescription
The Glass Hell is a region of the Dream Realm that lies to the east of Godgrave and to the west of the Chained Isles.[1] The Hollow Mountains are to the north of this region. The region is described as a 'vast plain made entirely out of glass' with tall ridges and deep crevasses interrupting its otherwise polished surface. Overall, this region is described as flat and smooth, allowing sunlight to reflect off it 'like a river of molten gold'.[2]
Geography
The climate of the Glass Hell is primarily caused by the intense heat the glass landscape absorbs from sunlight, which is then radiated away during the night, and is described as a region in which one can be burned to death merely by being caught in focused sunlight.
Below the surface of the Glass Hell is a network of tunnels stretching deep into the depths of the region. These tunnels are the hive-like home of the Nightmare Creatures which dwell within this region. This hive structure is described to encompass the entire region.
Other than these tunnel structures, the only notable locations within the Glass Hell are Red Hill, a Citadel near the southern boundary of the region, and the unnamed citadel Mordret discovers in the underground hive structure.[2] [3]
Inhabitants
Only one type of nightmare creature is known to live in the Glass Hell. They are an unnamed insect-like species which resemble glass wasps, using scythes and mandibles as their primary weapons. These nightmare creatures inhabit and fill the hive structures below the surface of the region, dwelling in both massive hordes or small hunting groups to appear and ambush travelers from the surface. They are known to drag their prey below the back into their hive in cases where they do not outright devour it on the surface.[2]
The Glass Hell has a notable human population, residing within the elder citadel of the region, Red Hill. The saint who rules over this citadel, and resides within the Glass Hell, is Dar of the Maharana clan. The human population of this citadel, and thus of the Glass Hell, is no more than a million people.[4]

The Unnamed underground Citadel in this region has yet to be fully explored. It is one of the most recent, if not the most recent, citadels conquered by humanity. [7]
