Cormac
character"You say that I have forgotten, but it is you who doesn't seem to remember. Who I am. What I am. And what I am capable of…"
— Cormac to Tyris, Chapter 596
Description
Cormac was a Transcendent Knight of Valor who oversaw the Great Clan's private citadel, the Night Temple. He was known to often venture into the dire mists of the Hollow Mountains as if searching for something.[1]
Appearance
As is the norm for a Transcendent, Saint Cormac had a deep, unfathomable shadow and a presence that seemed to affect the very world around him.
The Saint looked to be in his thirties, with a cold face and dark, ruthless eyes. His black armor was battered and worn, barely holding together after a month of exploring the Death Zone. Surprisingly, it wasn't too impressive, as far as armor-type Memories went. Neither was he wielding a terrifying weapon.

Personality
Cormac held immense pride in himself and his position as a champion of Valor. He viewed those who challenged his will and the will of Valor with contempt. When Tyris stood against him, he was confident in his ability to put her down.[2]
Aspect, Abilities and Flaw
Transformation Ability
The other was a ferocious wyvern, his black scales as dark as the abyss, with mighty muscles rolling under them like iron chains. The head of the creature was crowned with twisting horns, and in his maw, countless sharp fangs glowed darkly, illuminated by immolating red flame burning in the depths of the beast's adamantine body.

The rest of his abilities are unknown.
History
Overseer of Night Temple (Volume 3, Prince of Nothing)
Cormac was the Saint bound to the Night Temple and its master. He was known to make long expeditions into the Hollow Mountains for an unknown reason. Cassia had been able to obtain permission to anchor herself in the Night Temple in exchange for using her Aspect to aid Cormac in his exploration.[1]
Battles and Death (Volume 3, Prince of Nothing)
Saint Cormac lifted the seal on the Night Temple, causing the entire cathedral to shake.[3] In Sunny and Cassie's hurried escape, they were privy to Cormac and Mordret's battle only through the distant impacts, trembles and shudders resounding from the Temple.[4]
After defeating Mordret's final vessel in combat, he attempted to slay the two witnesses - Sunny and Cassie. However, Saint Tyris appeared to shield them, claiming the Awakened of her Citadel were her responsibility. Cormac stated that obstructing him was the same as obstructing Valor in that matter and asked that Tyris relinquish Sunny and Cassie. On Sky Tide's refusal, Cormac approached for battle. The two powerful Saints assumed their Transcendent forms and rose into the sky. Their battle was disastrous, causing the Northern Island to crumble into the dark abyss below.[2]
Later, a battered Tyris tosses something on the deck of the Chain Breaker. It was the head of a giant wyvern, torn viciously at the neck. Its eyes were glassy and empty, and its tongue hung lifelessly out of its terrifying maw, the red flames that once burned within were now gone. Lord Cormac was dead.[5]
Trivia
After Cormac's death, Valor had eleven Saints who had sworn loyalty to the Clan. On the other hand, Song had thirteen.
